Documentation & Samples of Coursework

On this page, I will outline the Spanish classes I have taken, along with brief descriptions of what I learned in each one. You will also find examples of my work from these classes and additional projects I completed.

Culture

SPAN 4960 Narrative Fiction-Clemson; Fall 2023

This Spanish class was one of my favorites during my time at Clemson. This is because, in this class, we would read famous stories about the Hispanic culture and discuss the story in class. We would discuss what we thought and what the story meant. We read every different genre and many different Hispanic authors.

SPAN 4350 Contemporary Hispanic Culture-Santiago de Compostela; Spring 2024

This class was taken during my Study abroad. In this class, we would disclose many things: music, health, movies, El Camino, and tourism, which was the focus of the country Spain. We would learn about the health care system and how tourists make Spain run.

SPAN 4070 Hispanic film-Santiago de Compostela; Spring 2024

I took this while I was abroad, and we would watch films about women being directors from Spain. We would also despise how women were the turning point in cinema in Spain. We would watch a movie weekly, and then a student would present the film.

HIST 3410 Modern Mexico-Clemson; Fall 2024

In the class, we learned the history of Mexico, how it first started, and how Mexico became the Mexico we know today. We discussed how Mexico had many roles and how many countries visited.

SPAN 4180 Technical Spanish Health Management Professional-Clemson; Fall 2024

We are focused on vocabulary in the health industry. We would concentrate on Latin countries and their health system. We each had a country, and we would describe how the healthcare system was getting money and how they distributed it.

SPAN 4980 Independent Study-Santiago de Compostela; Spring 2024

The class was an independent study while I was abroad, and I was given many opportunities to do things I could do. I picked helping kids because I also wanted to work on my Spanish. I had a great time helping these kids. I would read to them, help them with grammar, and make PowerPoint. For example, I made them play Jeopardy the first time they had played that game.

3060 Spanish Composition for Business-Clemson; Spring 2023

We focused on business vocabulary and understanding how it worked in the real world. In addition, we would practice using the word in the vocabulary in sentences and projects.

SPAN 3160 Spanish for Int'l Business I-Clemson; Fall 2024

For the class it was focused on the business world but did all of it in Spanish. We would work on vocabulary and read what makes a business run. In addition to learning all this, we did a mock business in a Latin country.

SPAN 3020 Intermed Span Grammar & Comp-Clemson; Fall 2023

We focused on expanding our vocabulary. In addition, we would practice using the word in the vocabulary in sentences and projects. To avoid using the exact words all over again.

SPAN 4090 Comprehensive writing in Spanish-Santiago de Compostela; Spring 2024

This class was taken during my Study abroad. In this class, we would read or watch a movie; from there, we would write essays about it in Spanish.

SPAN 3050 Interned Span Convers/Comp I-Clemson; Spring 2023

In this class, we would practice everything we learned in all the years of learning Spanish. We practiced our Spanish in many ways, such as talking, writing, reading, and listening. We would practice these things by watching a short film and talking to the people around us about what we saw or learned.

SPAN 4110 Adv Span Convers & Composition Continuation of-Santiago de Compostela; Spring 2024

This class was taken during my Study abroad. In this class, we would work out of a workbook. We would read the assignment and then answer the questions.
